Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Rome

You will be picked up at the airport and transported to your hotel in Rome where you can have a rest or take in some of the local sites. After your rest or visiting local sites you will meet your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner.

Day 2: Rome

Rome: Colosseum & Forum with Special Gladiator’s Gate & Arena Floor

Stand in the spot where gladiators once clashed swords and battles raged before throngs of spectators as you visit the mighty Colosseum and get special access to the arena floor. Afterward, learn what daily life was like in ancient Rome as you walk in the footsteps of everyday citizens among the ruins of the Roman Forum.


Meet your guide near the formidable hulk of the Colosseum, the gigantic arena that drew Romans of all walks of life to watch violent fights between gladiators and beasts. Skip the long line to head inside, and enter the Colosseum through a special gate once used by gladiators themselves. Walk right onto the arena floor—an area not usually accessible to the public—and learn about the harrowing events that took place here for entertainment's sake centuries ago.


Spend a full hour exploring the rest of the Colosseum, from the ground floor up to the top, where you can see the Roman Forum from a distance before making your way across to Palatine Hill. Bypass the lines at this storied collection of ruins, and listen to your guide rebuild ancient Rome from the ground up through captivating stories. Hear tales of war, politics, and betrayal, and get introduced to some of the ancient world's larger-than-life characters as you roam around the markets, roads, and temples where the empire's citizens once lived, played, and prayed.

Day 3: Rome









Rome: Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica

Dig a little deeper at the Vatican, visiting all the highlights of the collection – plus some incredible gems not often seen by the public. As part of this Official Vatican Partner tour, you’ll also receive No-Wait entry through a private, partner entrance so you make sure to get the most out of your visit.


Your carefully crafted tour begins with the Pinacoteca, the Vatican Paintings Gallery. Often overlooked by independent sightseers, this is one of the quietest parts of the Museums. Enjoy the hush as you view masterpieces by Raphael, Caravaggio and the only Da Vinci left in Rome.


Then, you’ll make your way to one of the highlights of our tour: the Bramante Staircase. A Vatican Guard will escort you beyond a velvet rope to this engineering marvel. It’s usually closed to the public, so you’ll have this stunning helical staircase to yourself, with space to admire spectacular views overlooking Vatican City.


Next, visit some of the well-known sights of the Vatican including the Gallery of Maps, Raphael Rooms, and the stunning Sistine Chapel. Of course, no visit to the Vatican would be complete without seeing this iconic masterpiece, and your expert guide will be sure to give you all the background you need to truly appreciate Michelangelo’s most famous work.


Finish your tour with privileged access to St. Peter’s through a door leading directly from the Sistine Chapel, avoiding the lines so you have more time inside to discover works like Michelangelo’s ‘La Pietà’.

Day 4: Rome


Rome: Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps & Pantheon

Often described as an outdoor museum, wandering the streets of the Eternal City, exploring its hidden gems is even more rewarding when you do it with an expert guide trained in the Rome’s art and history.


You hear anecdotes that bring the iconic sights to life as you start a relaxing stroll at the famous Spanish Steps. Find out the meaning behind the name, before continuing on cobbled streets to the baroque architectural masterpiece of the Trevi Fountain. Witness the people tossing coins in the water hoping to return to this magical place one day.


Stop for a delicious Italian gelato or a creamy cappuccino in lively Piazza Navona, and watch the world go by from your seat on the terrace of a local café. Marvel at the impressive dome of the Pantheon, before making your way to Campo dè Fiori, known for its lively market scene. Pick up the vibe, learn what locals call “il dolce far niente”, the sweetness of doing nothing.

Day 5: Naples

Naples: We will pick you up at your hotel in Rome and take you to the train station for a train ride to the Naples. You will be met at the train station and transported to your Hotel where you will have time to relax or we will guide you to some local sites or shopping areas.

Day 6: Naples







Naples: Capri and Blue Grotto Day Tour

Your tour starts by meeting your guide at the port in Naples for the boat ride to Capri by jetfoil. Arrive in Marina Grande, the main port of the island, where you can admire the view of sailing vessels moored at the pier.


A visit to the Blue Grotto is possible if the weather permits, but if the cave is closed, you can take a group boat ride around the island to see other caves.


To explore the island, hop aboard a minibus with your guide, who takes you along scenic routes including the Mamma Mia Road to Anacapri for spectacular views. Take some time to discover the picturesque village of Anacapri, with its narrow streets and typical small squares. This spot was the favorite place of Swedish doctor Axel Munthe, who fell in love with the ruins of an ancient chapel and built Villa San Michele. Then head to the main town of Capri and La Piazzetta, the center of life on the island. Sit and relax in the sun, or wander the streets marked by hotels, restaurants, and open-air cafes.


Next up are the Augustus Gardens. Originally known as the Krupp Gardens, these botanical gardens were established by German industrial Friedrich Alfred Krupp. From here, look down upon the legendary Faraglioni limestone rocks, one of Capri’s best-known landmarks. At this point, you will have free time to explore.


Finally, return to Marina Grande port for one last trip in a jetfoil back to Naples. During the 8 hour tour, your guide will also give you suggestions on how and where to sample local specialties.

Day 7: Naples










Naples:  Pompeii & Amalfi Coast

Explore the ancient city of Pompeii, one of the most visited archaeological sites in the world, and enjoy the stunning landscapes of the Amalfi Coast. With your local driver leading the way, soak up the charming atmosphere of Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello.


Leave Naples and reach Pompeii after only 30 minutes. Stroll through the famed archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, and admire the ancient Roman town preserved by the volcanic ashes that once covered it.


After some free time, make your way to the Amalfi Coast and marvel at the beautiful shore as you gaze out over the Mediterranean Sea. Drive along the twisty road, suspended like a balcony between the cobalt blue water and the slopes of the Lattari Mountains, before stopping at picturesque Positano with houses clustered along the hillsides.


Next, visit Amalfi, the town that gives the name to the coastline, and after a delicious lunch at Conca dei Marini, take in the stunning view of the sea from the terrace. Ravello, capital of Italian classical music as well as famous for its elegant villas and beautiful gardens, is your last stop before making your way back to Naples.

Day 8: Venice
Venice: You will be picked up at your hotel in Naples and taken to the Train station for a High speed train ride to Venice. When you arrive in Venice we will escort you to your local hotel where you will have time to relax or we will guide you to some of the local sites or shopping areas.

Day 9: Venice









Venice:  St. Mark’s Basilica & Doge’s Palace

Combine the top 2 sights in Venice in a hassle-free tour led by an expert local guide. With pre-reserved tickets and skip-the-line access, you get straight inside the Doge's Palace for an intimate small-group tour.


First, step inside Venice's most important church, St. Mark's Basilica, and admire the east-meets-west architecture. With access to the first-floor terrace, get close to the beautiful gold mosaics, see the gold horses, and admire beautiful views from the balcony over St. Mark's Square. Led by an expert guide, hear how most of the basilica's prized possessions ended up here by less than honest means.


Your second stop is no less beautiful. Palazzo Ducale, or the Doge's Palace, was home to the doge, or duke, of Venice and his seat of government. Skip the line with pre-reserved tickets and walk straight inside to explore huge council chambers, incredible audience rooms, and a stunning ballroom with works by renowned Venetian masters such as Veronese and Tintoretto.


Hear the intriguing history of this building that housed the world's oldest republic as well as its most fascinating government and even an incarcerated Casanova. You even see the New Prisons and walk on the renowned Bridge of Sighs

Notes:  Occasionally St. Mark’s Basilica is closed to the public, without previous notice, due to high tides or particular festivities.  If St. Mark’s Basilica is closed, an extended tour of the outside of the basilica and of St. Mark’s Square will be given instead. The Doge’s Palace is subject to unforeseen closures due to high tides or festivities; when this occurs, an alternate date is offered.


Day 10: Venice

Venice: Murano, Burano & Torcello Tour

Discover a different side of Venice via private, luxury water taxi. With a small group and free prosecco on board, you’ll feel like a VIP as you island hop to see blown-glass masterpieces, lush gardens, and artisan lace makers.


Your trip begins at a convenient spot in central Venice, where you’ll meet your local, expert guide and board your boat for the island of Murano. On the way, enjoy gorgeous views of the Venetian lagoon while you learn about the history of the island you’re about to see.


After a short trip, you’ll arrive to Murano’s most famous glass factory for a live demonstration from one of its master artisans. Next, head to the factory’s private Art Gallery to view more incredible glass masterpieces.


Then it’s back on your boat to travel to the tiny island of Torcello. This picturesque island is aptly called “the garden of Venice”. Here, you’ll have free time to soak up its gorgeous greenery or climb the local bell tower for views of the lagoon.


The last stop of your tour is Burano, an island famous for its colorful houses, used to help sailors off shore identify which home belonged to them. But this island isn’t just a pretty photo op; there is also a rich tradition of lacemaking. Your visit will introduce you to some of the women who are continuing the legacy of this ancient craft and allow you time to shop for some of these souvenirs yourself.


Finally, head back to Venice in style, with free-flowing Prosecco, magnificent scenery, and memories to last a lifetime!

Day 11: Florence










Florence: David, Uffizi, Duomo and walking tour

Don't just see Florence's sights—understand them with the help of your expert guide. In a small group, gain a deeper understanding of Florence's history, art, and culture. Meanwhile skip-the-line access at busy attractions saves hours and allows you to make the most of your time.


Start with Florence's most beloved resident, Michelangelo's David at the Accademia Gallery. With pre-reserved tickets and a set entry time, breeze past lines to see the famed sculpture in the flesh. Inside, your expert art historian guide tells you what makes David so special and introduces you to other Michelangelo works that you may not have noticed otherwise.


Then head to Florence's crowning glory, il Duomo or Florence Cathedral. As you admire the Dome from outside and inside (skipping the insanely long line) you’ll hear the story of how its architect Brunelleschi recovered lost knowledge and expanded the realm of what was deemed humanly possible all in his pursuit of building it.


Your walking tour is where you really feel the benefit of a small group. Explore the winding streets and art-strewn piazzas with your local guide, learning about the Ponte Vecchio bridge and Piazza della Signoria sculptures. After a break for lunch, reconvene for a tour of the Uffizi Gallery, skip the line, and follow a specially crafted itinerary through its corridors for a true understanding of art history.

Day 12: FLorence

Visit the historical town of Castellina in Chianti and walk to the Fortress

Day 13: Florence






Florence: Pisa and Leaning Tower

See one of Italy’s many symbols on this half-day tour from Florence to the town of Pisa, home to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Arriving in the Tuscan town of Pisa, you will walk along the still standing Medieval walls through the main entrance gate, Porta Santa Maria and into the breathtaking Piazza dei Miracoli.


Standing in front of you will be the impressive Cathedral, Baptistery, and of course, the Leaning Tower. With your guide, enter the Cathedral and admire the elegant example of Romanesque art. If you select the optional entrance to the tower, you will not only get to view it, but climb to the top without waiting in line! Afterwards, enjoy free time to take in the grandeur of the whole Piazza, and to get the perfect photo!

Day 14: Rome
Rome: You will be picked up at your hotel in Florence and take you to the Train station for a High speed train ride to Rome. When you arrive in Rome we will escort you to your local hotel where you will have to rest or we will guide you to some local sites or shopping areas.  After relaxing or visiting local sites you will meet your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner.

Day 15: Rome
Rome: We will pick you up at your hotel in Rome and take you to the train station for a nonstop train ride directly to the Airport.
